A Musicality that Rivals High-End Outboard Gear for a Sound that Sits Perfectly in Any Mix
CSR offers high-quality, musical reverb processing with the flexibility previously available only in extremely expensive signature hardware reverb units. It carries the quality and character that top engineers have utilized for years. CSR is designed to get the maximum musicality, recreate the character that has made your favorite hit records, and that classic sound that sits perfectly in any mix.
Easy to Use with Advanced Editing Features, CSR is Suitable for Any User from Beginner to Pro
CSR has been designed for ease of use with advanced editing features. With the look and feel of a typical effects rack on the interface, all the necessary controls are laid out for an immediate great sound. All knobs and macro controls can be automated through your host’s sequencer. From the beginner to professional engineer, you won’t have a problem getting your desired result from CSR.
Ease of Use for the Beginning Musician
CSR offers two modes: Easy and Advanced, coupled with more than 100 parameters. Easy Mode puts the most commonly changed controls on the front panel of the plug-in, making CSR an easy to use and quick solution when a high-quality reverb is needed. You shape the sound using only six parameters: Mix, Diffusion, Reverb Time, Low Frequency Gain, High Frequency Cutoff, and High Frequency Dampening; giving you full control over the main character of the reverb.
Depth and Complexity for the Professional Engineer
In Advanced Mode, you will find an array of highly developed modeling and shaping controls that are hard to find in any reverb. All parameters, the Modulation Matrix, and Macro Controls, can be adjusted and changed to create the reverb effect that you need, tailored to the very finest detail. The Modulation Matrix is an 8x8 structure; meaning that 8 modulation sources can manipulate 8 destinations. For example, to apply an envelope to your reverb time, you can fine-tune the tail for a specific reverb sound. Or, use an LFO to modulate the reverb image, creating movement in the acoustic space.
A New Level of Texture and Innovative Programming Potential
Macro controls can be created allowing complex sweeping changes in Classik Studio Reverb’s effects, virtually transferring environments at your command. You can associate up to 8 different CSR controls to a simple Macro slider, therefore making morphing between different reverb settings easier than ever. In both Easy and Advanced Modes, it is always simple to find that perfect sound. A convenient A/B comparison allows you to quickly apply modifications and compare between two reverb settings in a snap.
A Flexibility that Cannot be Found in Today’s Popular Impulse Reverbs, with Less Strain on Your CPU
While impulse reverbs have gained a lot of popularity because of their particular emulation of environment reverberation, they are inherently CPU-intensive. They typically lack the particular musical sound and editing possibilities that famous studio digital reverbs have always offered. CSR is not only less demanding in your processor, but much more flexible than impulse-based technologies. Now you have the ability to manipulate and shape reverbs from a number of angles, giving you performance that mirrors high-end studio quality.
Compatibility and Flexibility for Any Studio
CSR offers a reverb solution for virtually any computer-based musician. VST, RTAS, and Audio Unit formats are included for Mac and PC, allowing CSR to work as a plug-in with popular virtual studio environments such as: Cubase, Logic, Pro Tools, Digital Performer, Sonar, Ableton Live, and more.

Easy Mode

CSR offers a high-end reverb for every musician of every skill set.
CSR offers two modes, Easy and Advanced. These options give maximum workflow as well as something for every level of user. Easy Mode provides the most commonly used controls for each specific CSR unit. This allows easy functionality and the ability to quickly adjust the most dynamic and usable controls for your reverb with minimal fuss.
This short vocal sample will demonstrate how you can affect the sound easily using just the following parameters:
• MIX: increases and decreases the amount of reverb in the signal. 0% is unprocessed sound, 100% is all
reverb.
• DIFFUSION: determines the rate at which echo intensity decreases over time.
• REVERB TIME: adjusts the length of the reverb. Shortens or lengthens the time that the reverb tail lasts.
• LOW FREQUENCY TIME: controls the length of the reverb for low frequencies.
• HIGH FREQUENCY DAMPING: shortens the high frequency decay time of the reverb. This allows you to
emulate the way different materials in a room, such as carpet and furnishings, absorb sound.
• HIGH FREQUENCY CUTOFF: changes the frequency of the high frequency damping.
These parameters give you quick and easy access to the main characteristics of the reverb. The Easy controls are also available in Advanced Mode. They located in the separate, Advanced Mode menus.
IO Menu

The I/O Menu features controls to adjust the inputs and outputs of CSR.
These controls are very useful for creative changes to the stereo image. For example, by regulating the In Image, all mono information can be excluded from the reverb sound, allowing you to custom tailor the audio that will be affected by the reverb.
We will use a drum loop to demonstrate these parameters. Listen as the stereo field is manipulated using:
• IN LEVEL: input level of the reverb.
• OUT LEVEL: output level of the reverb.
• MIX: increases and decreases the amount of reverb in the signal. 0% is unprocessed sound, 100% is all reverb.
• IN IMAGE: controls the stereo image of the input before it is processed through the effect. This control also allows you to change the signal from normal stereo to mono and manipulate the phase of the signal. For example, a value of –45 swaps left and right channels, 0 is mono, and 45 is normal stereo. With a setting of 90, all mono will be excluded from the signal.
• OUT IMAGE: controls the stereo image of the affected signal. With a value of –360 to +360, this control extends the stereo field of the processed sound. This control can be used to create mono, stereo, or surround type effects. It can also be changed in real-time or automated using the Modulation Matrix or Macro Controls
Drum Loop (unprocessed and processed)

The Time Menu provides control of the time related parameters of the plug-ins.
They allow you to adjust the properties of the reverb that change the perceived time of the reflections.
The dynamic range of this guitar sample will enhance the effect. Listen to the rich result when it is affected by:
• REVERB TIME: adjusts the length of the reverb. Shortens or lengthens the time that the reverb tail lasts.
• Low Frequency Damping controls such as:
• LOW FREQUENCY TIME: controls the length of the reverb for low frequencies.
• CROSSOVER: changes the crossover frequency for the Low Time control.
• High Frequency Damping controls such as:
• HIGH FREQUENCY DAMPING: shortens the high frequency decay time of the reverb. This allows you to
emulate the way different materials in a room, such as carpet and furnishings, absorb sound.
• HIGH FREQUENCY CUTOFF: changes the frequency for the low-pass filter used for High Frequency
damping.
• PREDELAY: changes the time of the initial reflections of a room. This control helps to create the length of
the room that is being simulated. This control is imperative to creating an accurate room effect.

Reverb Menu

The reverb menu allows control over the shape of the tail.
These controls determine the size and shape of the resulting sound, and can even add crazy spatial effects that are not possible in the real world.
We will use a flute sample to accentuate the effects of:
• SIZE: Controls the approximate size of the acoustic space.
• DIFFUSION: changes the echo density (or number of echoes per second) fed into the reverb. A small diffusion setting creates a hollow reverb sound, like a bathroom. A larger diffusion setting creates a more open, natural sounding reverb.
• BUILDUP: changes the envelope of the reverberation. When this control is turned down, it causes a fast attack and fast decay in the reverb. To create a slower buildup in the reverberation, turn up the build up control. This will simulate larger acoustic spaces.
• DISPERSE: adjusts the envelope of the reverberation. Disperse shortens or stretches the overall buildup envelope.
• MODULATION: creates movement in the reverberation tail. Modulation continually changes the timbre of the reverberation.

Color Menu

The color controls feature the low and high cut filters for CSR. Use these controls to tailor frequency response.
We will use another drum sample to demonstrate these parameters. Listen for the change in sound after being shaped by:
• LO CUT FREQUENCY: changes the frequency of the low cut filter in the reverberation path.
• LO CUT GAIN: changes the gain of the low cut filter.
• HI CUT FREQUENCY: changes the frequency of the high cut filter in the reverberation path.
• HI CUT GAIN: changes the gain of the low cut filter.

Reflection Menu

Using the reflections menu will tailor the time and level of the reflections in the reverb. These controls feature independent time and level controls for the left and right channels.
This piano sound demonstrates the added texture of the Reflections parameters.
Piano Sample (unprocessed and processed)
Echo Menu

The echo controls allow you to change the amount of echo being fed into the reverb. These controls feature independent time and feedback controls for the left and right channels.
• TIME LEFT: adjusts the length of the echo in the left channel.
• FEED LEFT: adjusts the amount of delay being sent to the feedback paths.
• TIME RIGHT: adjusts the length of the echo in the left channel.
• FEED RIGHT: adjusts the amount of delay being sent to the feedback paths.
Utilizing these parameters can add depth and presence to vocals. This vocal sample will illustrate the lush effects of Echo settings. First you will hear the sample unprocessed, and then the result as finessed by CSR.
